Dry steam can be used as a general cleaning system or to spot clean spills and stains. Always test a small area of furniture as some velour's (i.e. Draylon) are manufactured at 105oC and dry steam at 140oC plus can cause damage.

General Clean - Steam Only System: use the steam mop system to perform a general clean on upholstery or wooden furniture.

                                - Steam Vacuum System: use the upholstery tool to steam and vacuum at the same time.

In some instances a detergent can be applied to heavily soiled areas. The steam vacuum will not leave any residue and

it may assist in removing ground in soiling

Spot Clean - use the detail nozzle on high pressure at an angle of around 30o to the surface to blow the stain into the rectangular brush with a mop or cloth on it held opposite the detail nozzle. For areas where body fats have turned black you may need to apply the small round nylon brush with a low steam pressure to work at removing this type of stain. Do not scrub for too long as you may start to lift the fabric. In stubborn cases you may need to apply a stain remover to assist the dry steam but this is rare.

Draylon - steam will damage Draylon if applied directly and may still damage Draylon if applied through a cloth

White and light cream furniture - not much will remove all of the soiling from these colours but steam will definitely improve areas such as the arms of chairs. I have cream sofas in the conservatory at home, 4 kids and a Cocker Spaniel. I clean my sofas twice a month!

Leather - steam will remove the polish on leather upholstery, even if steam mopped.
